In 2004, I found myself showing symptoms of bad health. It was the typical allergies, digestive issues, depression, anxiety and one called vocal cord dysfunction, which had been misdiagnosed as asthma for close to 10 years. They started as nuisance things then found themselves more severe and interfering with day to day life.
During these years I had three children and with everyone I got sicker and sicker. Of course like most I went to doctors and was told these are normal aging symptoms and just take my prescriptions and I’ll be fine. But during this time I knew it wasn’t normal and I started doing my own research. I kept asking myself “why didn’t people have these problems 60 years ago or for most of human history. Why now?” After awhile is suspected it had something to do with food and lifestyle. I started first with the elimination diet in 2006 and continued to get sicker. After a few years of this it gradually led to me becoming a raw vegan and being the sickest I had ever been. I was known as the sickest healthiest eater. I was at my breaking point in 2012 when I was hospitalized multiple times in a row for panic attacks. That’s when I was told “it’s all in your head.” from the psychiatric ward.
I realized that I couldn’t figure it out for myself and asked god for help. During this time I was ironically studying to be a holistic nutritionist, because if I figured this thing out for myself than I would help others going through similar issues. During the panic attacks I was at the point in my certification to finish with my choice of an elective course of my choice to obtain the certificate. I stumbled on the hair analysis course and thought it sounded interesting. Little did I know it was the help I asked for. Now years later after studying and starting the program for myself I have surpassed the health I knew before to a physical and mental development I’ve never known. So I can help others now that “I’ve figured things out” to achieve real health and healing. You can have control over your own health and well-being, and that is truly freeing and empowering.
I have been a certified holistic nutritionist and certified nutritional balancing consultant since 2014. I am a mother of three, whom of which are all on the program as well. We are a homeschooling family and we enjoy adventures together and cooking together. In my free time I work with various organizations around the country working to change environment and food system practices. I’m an avid knitter and seamstress and hope to have an organic and up-cycled fashion company one day. Last but not least I love gardening and cooking. I love teaching both to individuals who love the idea of walking to their garden for groceries instead of driving there. In the words of Hippocrates “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”
